You must be present at the test centre on the test day between 08.15 – 08.45 to register. The test begins at 09.00 and the test day ends by +/- 17.00, depending upon the time of your afternoon Speaking test.

Important notice: On the test day, you must bring the same document you registered with on line to take the test. Your ID will be checked before each test. If you bring a different ID document on the test day, you will not be allowed to take the test and not be able to transfer to another test date nor be refunded. A Driving Licence is not accpted.

Paper-BasedTest day schedule

• 09.00 – 12.00: Listening (40 minutes), Reading (60 minutes) and Writing (60 minutes) tests. Please note, in the Netherlands, the paper-based Listening test is conducted with loud speakers, not individual headphones. There are no breaks between these test parts.
• Speaking test interviews (20 minutes) are scheduled in the afternoon between 13:00 – 17.00 – you can select your test time when you register for the test. At 12.30 on the day of the test, you will have confirmation of your Speaking test time. Please be present at the test centre at least 20 minutes before your Speaking test time. 

You may bring only a water bottle and your ID/passport into the test rooms. The water bottle must be transparent and should not have a label. 

Personal belongings are not allowed inside the test room. This includes watches, pens & pencils, coats, bags, mobile phones, other electronic devices, etc. You will be able to store these in a cloakroom or locker. 

A new ID document?
If you receive a new ID document – and therefore have a new ID number – after registering for the test with the old ID, you need to send an email to the IELTS department ( bltc@bltc.nl ) immediately. You cannot take the test with an out-of-date ID document.  

Driving licenses are not accepted.
